Reviews
Busy, noisy, average food.
I simply was not impressed by the food, by the portions and by the tastes.
I heard a lot about the place before going, so I was expecting something extraordinary but we end up with average taste food.
The pizza and the sales were good as well as the grill but nothing above average.
The place was very noisy due to the set up of windows a low ceiling in the outside room
I visited this place with my work colleagues on a few occasions. It has amazing and sweeping views of the blue Pacific Ocean. Given our team size, we had a custom menu for our team, a 3 course meal that started with appetizers - bruscheta, pesto filled mushrooms, salad, followed by entrées. I tried the vegetarian casarecce all norcina and it was splendid. Tiramisu for dessert was just right ✅️.
Reserved a table online for our anniversary. Arrived and was seated right away and was greeted with our waiter. Atmosphere was great, we were on the patio next to the fire places. We ordered expresso martini's that were a 10/10. Calamari was a 10/10. I ordered the sea food dish as my main course, which tasted amazing and I ate every bite of it, but unfortunately upset my stomach later that night. My GF ordered the alfredo pasta with a side of asparagus. It was just okay, both items were bland and didn't have any memorable flavors. I still would come back and give them another try due to the amazing service, location and atmosphere of the place.
It’s very noisy on Thursday nights. Food is okay nothing special. Service was very very good. For price is not meet the expectations. Parking is awful 😞
I tell you what this place was one of the nicest and peaceful places I have eaten. Very courteous and professional are waiter was on point and the food was excellent.
Food is good though service is quite terrible. They not only seemed understaffed but the hostess was not very professional. We booked a table on open table and got there on time, and was assigned a table in the middle of the covered patio sitting.
There were several other tables close to the windows that were empty and we asked if we could move. First we were told we could move to any one of them and wait for set up. So we moved to one of our choice but shortly after, the hostess came and asked us to get up saying that particular table was reserved (although there were others adjacent to it with the same view, that were empty.) We didn't want to argue so we got up and waited at the bar. We waited and waited (about 15 mins) and other people would come in and get seated before us. They seemed to have forgotten about us. We had to get up and ask and still had to wait. All this even after reserving a table?
Finally we got a table. Usually at any decent (and pricey) Italian restaurant one expects a round of bread and butter / olive oil, but nothing here.. they didn't quite listen while taking the order either - we asked for one water with no ice and one with, and we got both with no ice..
It was also very loud at 7.30 pm on a week night.. impossible to have a conversation without yelling..
I don't think I will come back although the food (pesto pasta) was really good and the view is great.
We recently heard about this restaurant and I can honestly say we’re hooked! I am a sucker for an amazing Vodka sauce pasta and Il Fornaio has some absolutely amazing food! My husband really liked his pizza. We will be back
My recent visit to this restaurant was an absolute delight. From start to finish, the experience was fantastic. The highlight of my meal was the Casarecce Pesto e Pollo, which was incredibly delicious. The pasta was perfectly cooked, and the pesto sauce was creamy, flavorful, and had just the right amount of garlic. The chicken was tender and juicy, and the dish was topped with toasted pine nuts, which added a wonderful crunch.
In addition to the amazing food, Il Fornaio Del Mar also boasts stunning ocean views. The restaurant overlooks the Pacific Ocean, which makes for a beautiful backdrop to your meal. We got there at sunset and the view was gorgeous!
The staff at Il Fornaio Del Mar were professional and attentive. They were quick to greet me upon arrival, and their knowledge of the menu was impressive. The attention to detail and commitment to providing an outstanding dining experience was apparent from start to finish.
Overall, I highly recommend Il Fornaio Del Mar to anyone looking for a delicious meal with beautiful ocean views and outstanding service. The Casarecce Pesto e Pollo is a must-try, and the staff will make you feel like royalty. It's the perfect spot for a romantic dinner, a family outing, or a gathering with friends.
